Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American television chef and host. She also was an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature long, blonde hair with a pumped up personality reveals easy methods to master and removes the fear of eating at restaurants in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the most prestigious restaurants in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, and battled on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from a young age. She pursued her passion for the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful experience. Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic opportunity to pursue a degree. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. Burrell gained a greater knowledge of Italian food and culture during her stay in Italy and this has affected the way she cooks. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists children with obstacles. She frequently travels around the country in her role as both a mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her work and passion for cooking. Anne in all her culinary journey has stated that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to share this passion for the food industry with people.
