Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist and currently competing in the UFC flyweight division. She is also the older sister of former UFC Flyweight champion as well as the fellow UFC fighter Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko started her combat sport career by becoming an Muay Thai boxer. She debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and beat Suzane Miller in the finals by a unanimity. Antonina was able to continue her professional career after taking home bronze and silver medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, as well as a Gold medal in the year 2011, as well as the 2015 IFMA amateur Muay thai world champion. Antonia's professional journey began in 2003. In 2012, she took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship In 2016, she won she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC World Championships. Antonina has fought her last time against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won unanimously. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut came in 2002 at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She won the fight via second-round TKO and won her next 2 fights in the WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass an overall record of 3-1. Shevchenko was forced to take a break in order to focus on kickboxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui in Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko won against Anissa in an unanimous decision. She went on to defeat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. She resigned from the organization and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera on Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina showed off her power of striking by tying Nievera with knees. Antonina Shevchenko was given an UFC contract after the victory. Antonina took part in her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, with Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko won the fight by unanimous decision, but she lost her next fight against Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from losing and defeated Lucie Puddilova in UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. The fight was awarded Antonina the prize of Fight of The Night. Shevchenko was 2-2 in her three subsequent matches, winning over Ariane Lipski, while falling to Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina was defeated by Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO during UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
