Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel, and jazz into his signature style. The singer's career has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European festivals and clubs up to the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine Her real name is Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta at present, Sunshine comes originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician by playing and singing at the church in town. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical education began in Atlanta's R&B Scene. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in the stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) offered her an opportunity to be the choral conductor of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was recognized nationally during her four daily performances in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
